Ya, I've had a guy that does all of my snow removal (and Lawn work) for quite a number of years now and it's worth it to me. We were always on the road anyway so we weren't around to do it. I'm paying him a bunch extra for this one!
Yea... I have a guy that does my snow and lawn stuff as well. Time value of money in my mind.

Bad part is that he doesn't do garages full of snow. I'm on my own for that one. lol

Never buy an Ariens Path Pro. Brand new last year. Used twice. Took 30 minutes to start this morning. Wheels are too tiny for the size of it. Bolt broke off the handle while pushing snow today. Then the auger got stuck in a position it would only throw snow straight back at me. I hate Iowa.

If I went bigger I might not make it around the driveway curve and dump it in the pond.

The pic doesn't do it justice but the curve is pretty tight (I removed the tree that is circled to widen the corner) especially when you have a 34' Semi RV truck pulling a 30' trailer.

I suggest a bulldozer, widen the drive and push snow.

Is that additional snow or inclusive of this morning?
I got to thinking about that and it kind of looks like Weather Underground updates their forecast quite frequently (less than hourly sometimes) and that it's the total expected going forward from that time only. So it appears it's an incremental forecast and not a total snowfall forecast since the beginning of the storm. Glad that you asked the question.

My wife went out yesterday afternoon to run some quick errands before it got real bad here in Osage.

Left the garage door open.... Come out this morning to a drift in my garage up to the Ford logo on my tailgate. Around the sides to the rear wheels.

Excellent! There is probably more snow in my garage than the driveway.

Get the papers ready:mccaffery:

Question for forecasters, do the TV ladies and guys ever purposely take a few inches off their total because for some reason people are fine with missing low rather than missing high? Which makes no sense me to lol. I always want less.

Haha... in her defense... she says she hit the button. Our garage door goes back up at times when it can't go all the way down due to an obstruction. I believe her. lol

We have a garage door like that. Everyone knows it, so it’s expected that when at the switch, you wait. Only leave when you know the door is down.

Hour and a half and finally dug out. Now just waiting for the plow to come bye and put a 4 ft drift at the end of my driveway.

No idea how much we got in north Ankeny. Major drifting. There is a 5 ft drift on one side of my house. Parts of my driveway had no snow and other parts had several feet.

Anybody know where I could get a cheap, used snowblower? 15 years of scooping my driveway is going to come to an end after today. I’m cheap and old but I have to face the fact that I can’t scoop anymore.

You might try Craigslist. There are always people fixing up old ones and selling them.

Just pay for a service. Trying to go cheap with a snowblower isn't going to be all that cheap and you'll be disappointed with what you get, and for the cost of even a cheap one you can pay for several years of having your driveway cleared.
