Saw Askew from Texas is transferring. Crazy because they lost a ton. He would actually be a good fit for what ISU does on defense but he is pretty bad offensively. Also, would likely need to sit a year without some type of waiver

One thing in common with a lot of those teams is that they lose a lot of seniors so maybe guys think they will have a bigger role next year
Plus wait til some of them get ' NIL-ed ' out of their schollie and asked to leave, with prominent guys still to commit. Bound to happen.

Surprised that Marble is leaving MSU. Not that he is a huge piece but after losing Christie and others, I think they will really struggle next year.

I think Texas served as a cautionary tale on going transfer heavy. On paper, that lineup should have been the best in the nation. Carr, Allen, Jones, Askew, Ramey, Disu, Febres, Bishop, Mitchell. They basically had their choice of transfers. But as it turns out you can't just assemble a team of 8 strangers, many of which transferred to have a starring role, roll the balls out and expect to win big.

Yeah, Texas and Beard I thought took a bad approach. It was the opposite of TJ. Texas just tried to get guys regardless of whether they fit what Texas wanted to do and regardless of chemistry. I actually haven't been impressed with Beard much since his run a couple years ago.

Think I agree. Still thinks he a good coach. Just not top 3/5/10 or wherever it felt like he was a few years ago

He fell into the trap that so many Texas coaches seem to fall into where it's more important to win the off season than to win actual games. I think he felt the pressure to come in and have a bunch of big recruiting/transfer wins that he didn't pay attention to things like scheme and culture.

Every player needs to enter the portal. Then have the top NIL teams draft the new members of the team they want, then the rest of us can get our draft picks in the 5th round.
And you get one franchise player that does not go into the portal.
