Defense wasn't Texas' problem. It was the other end of the court. ACU had 20+ more shots than Texas I believe. They should have won that game by double digits easily with a stat like that. And yet they needed a foul and free throws to win it. Texas on offense (to ACU's credit) was so bad.
That was one of the best first rounds that I can remember. A lot of great games and a few upsets for some excitement.
There are 9 double-digit seeds in the Round of 32. That is one shy of the record of 10 set in 2016.
I was kind of pulling for the 7-0, yet I like the upset...but this game is why I'm more of an nba fan outside of isu and the big dance.
The way good defense can just grind the college game to a halt can be brutal...if this were two highly ranked teams there'd have been little enjoyment watching it.
I think they had 10 at half and I thought well at least they won’t have that many again in the 2nd.

This is the first time since 1991 that there are no teams from the state of Kentucky in the Round of 32. And first time since tournament expanded to 32 teams in 1975 that there are no teams from North Carolina in the Round of 32.
It occurs to me that non-KU big 12 tourney champions have had some really bad first round luck over the last decade (mostly us, but Texas and mizzou make some bookends).
Mizzou in 2012- lost as a 2 seed in the first round.
ISU in 2014- lost Niang in the first round.
ISU in 2015- Lost as a 3 seed in the first round
ISU in 2019- Lost as a 6 seed in the first round
Texas 2021- Lost as a 3 seed in the first round.
Mizzou in 2012- lost as a 2 seed in the first round.
ISU in 2014- lost Niang in the first round.
ISU in 2015- Lost as a 3 seed in the first round

Bummed that a Top 4 seed from the Big 12 but not bummed that it was Smart and UT that were the one loss. Five straight first round losses for Smart.
Shaka is a fraud. If I was a Texas fan I’d want him gone at this point.
Hopefully, but have a feeling not playing might be a bad thing for them. Couldn't get nerves out/rust off.
