Abilene Christian is looking for their first ever tournament win.

Two teams won their first tournament game against Texas: Oregon and Utah State - Both in 1939 (The first NCAA Tournament)

In 1939, they had 2 four team regionals. The team that lost the first game played for 3rd in the regional. So those were Texas's first two tournament games.

I’m confused with Smart. He seems to have some solid teams, but can never get over the hump. He probably should be doing better with a program like Texas.
