MLB: ***OFFICIAL 2014 MLB Postseason Thread***

The little I caught last night I think it was the eighth inning and KC was pitching. That little stretch there when Trout was up was really bad, but the pitching visits were definitely necessary. At least I thought they were. The problem I had was Trout seemed like he would call time and step out of the box for the sole purpose of slowing the game. Probably to throw of the pitchers rhythm.
That is the type of stuff that needs to be stopped. I have no problem when you are taking time because it will affect the game. I just hate it when you are wasting time for the purpose of wasting time.

The Royals also called time and stepped out of the box to annoy Jon Lester in their playoff game. He is known to get upset about that and they used it to their advantage. I agree that the time wasting is what they are trying to reduce. I like the strategy (so I am OK with mound visits) and I don't mind catchers and pitchers getting together to get on the same page.

I've noticed that a lot of the Tigers fans here in Detroit that over the last few months have been noisily whining that Nathan should be kicked out of the closer role in favor of either Chamberlain or Soria have gone eerily silent over the last couple of days.

Hasn't been a good couple of 8th innings the last 2 games has it.

Clayton Kershaw is why organizations continue to draft flame throwing High Schoolers with top draft picks. Most fail, but sometimes they develop that 3rd pitch, refine their command, and stay healthy.

Well I was off by 2 innings. Knew it would be either Puig or Ramirez. This is not the same Dodger team as last year.

Isn't it basically just feeling like picking between different sizes of these anyway?

From afar I get the feeling that as long as you can keep it within a couple runs and not allow the starter to go the distance, it's basically a coin flip if they can shut the door.
