Same here. When I was a student at ISU, I knew of 2 cases of that happening when I was a freshman.

I was aware of more than one athlete who did that when I was there in the mid 00's. I just assumed it was the way it was and didn't think anything of it.

Ummm. ISU has three former WBB players married to current ISU coaches, all of whom were ISU coaches when their future wives were playing. Albeit, none were married before.

IIRC:
In an article at the Rag, Aus mentioned that she met Otz at an ISU event after she was done playing for ISU. I also think that she actually had a BF when she played for ISU.

During her senior night speech she mentioned “Coach Carp, now the season is almost over and I almost graduate, will you go out with me, just kidding, just kidding ?” So I think Carp was really prudent in making sure that this kind of relationship didn’t happen when there was coach-player relationship.

The third one I assume Lindsay Medders-Fennely? If so, Billy was student manager that time, so not officially a coach. I believe there was an article in Iowa state Daily mentioning that Billy and Lindsey had to keep it secret even from BF because BG frowned upon this kind of relationship.

So none of the meet the case of person-in-power vs person under reporting structure relationship.

He didn’t coach her no matter the timing. That makes a HUGE difference.
