Yeah, those days are long now. Tailgating in Iowa City has been heavily curtailed and the bars aren't anything like they were back then. Taking away half the available market will do that. Ames has caught way, way up too.

I get the bar change (no longer letting 19 & 20 year olds in), but I thought the changes they made a couple years ago only made changes to parking in donor lots with their restriction on how long after a game people can tailgate (and no tailgating after night games). I'd imagine that with fewer students able to go to bars, the backyard/house party tailgates would be much bigger these days?

They also changed it so you can't just walk around drinking a few years ago too. Or at least said they are enforcing it now.
