I hope he makes it, just dont see it defensively.
Niang is a tremendous college player, but he would get killed defensively in the NBA. Teams would exploit his lack of athleticism. NBA bigs are much more athletic, bigger, and better scorers. Niangs defense has already been a big liability at times in college. There are many great college players that don't make the NBA.![]()
....I could be missing something, but I think Gossamer expressed that Niang does have a place in the NBA.
I am sorry I don't have the correct structure for you. But don't really care what you think.

I'll go ahead an bump this thread in August. Will you feel better then?My favorite quality of yours is that if someone doesn't agree with you, they are clueless. The fact of the matter is, opinions are like ********...much like you...and everyone has one.
Only because you're the Great Oz and sitting behind a curtain of knowledge, I humbly beseech you to enlighten us how you feel a guy like Georges doesn't have a place in the NBA. I've not opined that he'll be some HOF player...but at his size, with his passing and his moves, he'll get a shot. You don't make moves like he did/does and not get to play. Defense can be learned much easier than offense.
First bolded point is ridiculous...it's simply that his athleticism doesn't manifest like you see every day. Second point is accurate...but intelligence and aptitude could help Georges make up for any areas he lacks in. He's not Larry but I think Georges is a better overall athlete than Larry was.
Again, opinions.

He isn't......and I know you are, but what am I?lol...yeah, you guys are right, Georges isn't NBA caliber. Dumbasses.
It's a common tale.Really weird to think a guy as great in college playing at the highest level in the college game and a guy that is that driven and ballsy does not have a place at the next level.
I didn't mean that George was as good as Larry. He just had some of the same intangibles that Larry had. I am a life long Celtic fan. I go back to there glory years and the not so glory years. The Lakers and Celtics rivalry with Chamberlin and Russell. I saw John Havlicek's last game in Chicago. I think they lost 60 games that year. It was a steep fall from there.
The Larry Bird arrived on the scene. He played in the Missouri Valley and yes he put up big numbers. Some analysts said he didn't play again tough competition and he was to slow. He wasn't athletic. They of course were all wrong.
He became one of my favorite players of all time. I never missed a game on TV that the Celtics played in. . His first season they won over 60 games a complete turnaround from the year before. Then of course the rivalry between there Lakers and the Celtics was reborn. I think if he hadn't had a bad back they would have won more championships.
So no George isn't a Larry Bird, but he does have some of those intangibles that he had. That's my opinion and I will stand by that. I really don't care whether you agree or not. But don't tell me what I can or can't say.
