correct it states that black should never be used with cardinal and gold.....however I wonder why they allow it on black coats ect. I wonder if that rule has been taken out
The rule hasn't changed- who's allowing this?? We need to track these people down! :arghh:
I like the charcoal grey stuff. I don't really care if we put it into our uniforms but I would like to see us with multiple helmets instead of just cardinal ones. I wouldn't mind a new design either but that's not a huge deal.
I'm assuming they realized people like black/dark clothes and there was money to be had. So money out weighed a rule that is more of guideline anyways.
If its a supposed legal issue like people were arguing with the gold and the 49'ers then you just pick a Pantone number that is not trademarked and use that, like the 50 other teams using gold not named the 49'ers.

Am I the only one who hated those uniforms? The white numbers & losing to the haks ruined everything for me. We should've used them against Texas so the whole nation would be exposed to the Jack Trice story. No one outside of Iowa cares about the Cyhak game.
I wouldn't mind the color scheme, but keeping the Trice era uniforms as our permanent uniforms wouldn't be smart.
Totally agree. They would be the only uniforms in football with not only that design, but anything remotely close to that design. I get that some people hated them but the uniforms looked good, they would be unique, and there is a nice background story with them.
Agree with this. Some of the concepts I saw of the Trice Unis were pretty cool, the final product, imo, left a lot to be desired.
Yeah, I just don't think a 20s era design looks good on modern equipment. I'm not opposed to bringing it back for special occasions, though. His story needs more exposure.
