My personal favorite among the actual UI alumni that do the same, touting the med and law schools, even though they aren't the 3-4% of people that are actually in those schools. Rather they are selling insurance with their psychology degree.

so? Doesn't ISU have Engineering and Computer Science? Those fields aren't exactly for dummies.

My uncle, who i dont think went to college, mostly followed and supported the Hawkeyes all his life like many iowans that age. He recently jumped on the band wagon.

In his short time as a fan has become quite the fan. He listens to a lot of CW's podcasts and is always happy to talk about iowa state football. Has been a season ticket holder for the past few years now. Brought his grandson to ames for the kids football camp in 2019 and he is now hooked too.

I watched the game with him on Saturday and he was much more relaxed than I was.

Winning will bring more fans. In the past several years I've noticed way more people wearing ISU gear and stickers on their cars. I also think when your team wins you are more proud and wanting to show your support. I think there is some apathy over at Iowa.

Great post, but couldn't you have picked an analogy with a better ending for those onboard?

unfortunately I see where he is going with this take. eventually we start to have the version of hickeye fans that we all hate and loath on our side of the aisle as well.. the ones who are drunkenly trying to climb up on the stages of Game day set for their 15 seconds of fame..

It'd be really great if JP could get a little better Cyclone Network radio coverage on the eastern third of Iowa. I'm always surprised there's no fan support for that here.

The demise of Nebraska football has also helped Iowa State. Growing up in western Iowa no one cared about Iowa (mired in their losing streak) or Iowa State. It was all Huskers.
