New "Dry" bar in Davenport

It's not Tommy's, it's Ross's. At least that was the case before the new I-74 bridge they're building forced them out of their traditional downtown Bettendorf location and out onto the 53rd Ave corridor (the last place I would ever want to eat at a place like Ross's). And I can't imagine anyone from the QC ever going to a place that doesn't serve alcohol after eating at a place like Ross's.
Sounds like jdoggivjc has put down a Magic Mountain a time or two..

Like Iowa before Harold Hughes, BYOB was everywhere. Animal clubs were in every town.

Bring a jug of schit vodka(hawkeye) in to the "patio" let it rip.

usually a bar like this pops up in a place that can’t get a liquor license

I couldn’t find it in a (VERY quick) search of the Daily’s archives, but there was a campustown bar - I believe Sips - in the late 90s/early00s that opened as an all-ages (no booze) dance club to try to capture the 18-21 market. I think it lasted MAYBE 2 weeks before they changed to all-ages Tuesday, and not much longer before it was a full-on bar.
