I get that, but it’s a cleaner water. For me, going back to hard water is bad. It drys out skin. You can get cheaper systems but as stated above the maintenance is an issue. The kinetico is plug and play. I’m tired of F’ing around with things that don’t work

A simple whole house filter with carbon filters seems a lot cheaper but then you have to change a ~$7 filter every few months.
that said if you've already budgeted for it, its not a bad investment. Especially if anyone in your family has sensitive skin.
I wish I could offer some advice man, but have no experience with those. I am glad I am not the only one who likes soft water though
80 pounds - Now the softenere is 2995. This is a top of the line unit, you can get a culligan for 1/2 the price or a rain soft for 2X the price. The kinetco is a mechanical system not electric which is very nice. maintneance is like zero.
then it is set too high. Ours is set pretty low, just enough to take the edge off the hardness
I'm putting in a new water softener this weekend that I bought from Lowes. I'm pretty excited to have one again. I know Ankeny's water may not be super hard, but I miss having soft water.
pls someone invent a service that monitors salt level and comes and fills when needed. all 10000 lbs i dont care.
