Nebraska sux

Nebraska fans are so damn delusional. Ryan Day? Get over yourselves.

They think because Nebraska can offer more money, they any coach at a lower program will go and take it. They think money is the only factor for these coaches.
Agreed. Matt does not care about the $, he’s not going to a place like Nebraska, and he doesn’t hold these types of conversations during the year.

I have a feeling they will end up with a big time hire this go around. They have the money and recourses. Kinda like it took Oklahoma 20 years to find stoops. Hate to see it coming but feel it’s reality.

Was discussing this over Labor Day with a good friend who is a (rational) long-time Husker season ticket holder. His take? Next coach will be someone we’ve never heard of, because no good coach in their right mind wants the job right now.

For sure, but that particular person is somewhat credible. But I think it's obvious that they will want Campbell. I don't think Campbell will want Nebraska.
Yeah he’ll be targeted but Matt will turn it down.

Money has to be part of his decision making somewhere, just not as high as others. He’s probably smart enough to know that taking less money every year for a longer period of time is better than taking the big payday but risk being fired and his football career going in the crapper like others we’ve seen.

Trev Alberts is going to take his time on this one. Giving Frost 5 years shows to the new guy that Nebraska isn’t a one year and your fired program. Love it they suck so bad but you know as well as I do Nebraska is a blue blood program.

Oh yeah I mean he’s not going to choose a place strictly because of $.

They aren’t front of the line. About 32+ schools have money and resources now. Nearly all with better local talent. The P2 era is bad for Nebraska

Look for them to overpay for a retread big name when they should go after a guy like Leipold
They actually are up there near the front. They have a higher budget than a lot of those 32+ schools and that's while they are losing more football games than they have in years. If they hire the right coach and start winning they will bring in way more cash than most of those 32+ schools. I don't think they will make a good hire but if they do, they will win and raise tons of cash to help them with the NIL.

Matt Campbell talks about how much he enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball team last summer. I’m sure he’s looking for many more similar summers with his kids. I don’t think he’s going anywhere and especially if we have success.
People will prob disagree, I'm not sure he could coach his kids team in Lincoln after a 7-6 year. I could be wrong. But they are totally different towns and fan bases.

Bingo.
Can you imagine the hate spew for a 7 and 6 season ... when expectations that year were for basically a national title at Nebby with all the kids coming back.
