Why would the shape of his head change? Why would he go from model to having the complexion of a 16 year old?

How does he go from turning down jump shots because he can't jump to what you saw tonight with no rest?


Come on, for the last 3 weeks the guy has been killed for being "injured" and tonight, again with no rest, he played like he did.

Plus, he's a dirty player that has intentionally tried to hurt people.

A big problem I have with the NBA, and I think even Shaq pointed this out, is that instead of new faces (Jason Kidd, Brian Shaw), that teams will recycle coaches who have failed. Del Negro is a good example. It happens in college, though not nearly as frequently as far as BCS to BCS moves for coaches who failed. Altman is one that worked, and no, I don't consider Creighton that even with the conference switch.

It seems this way with most pro sports; it's like this for the NFL (one of the many reasons I hate the NFL), and it's definitely like this for baseball (though some would argue that MLB coaches/managers have a much more diminished role compared to basketball and football).

There are a lot of reasons for this that, when you think about them, shouldn't be too surprising. I'll elaborate sometime when I'm not on mobile.

Sample size. I'd have said a similar thing about Jackson early on as Jordan's coach.

Also Pippen was not as accomplished and seasoned as Wade until after the Bulls had won several titles. He was a very solid player but still improving toward his prime as they won the first three titles.

So why is Popovich a good coach? His one year without the greatest power forward in NBA history he went 17-47, looks like he hasn't proven himself yet according to your standards?

Actually, that year, he took over after he fired Bob Hill after David broke his foot, and Sean Elliott blew out his knee, both missing the season.

That team ended up with 72 year old Dominique Wilkins as their leading scorer.

I get the feeling we're debating with a high school kid. If Pop isn't a good coach there are no good coaches.

Avoid the question and insult me. Pretty typical for you. Why don't you answer my question as to why you're holding Spoelstra to this unrealistic expectation but not Pop? He's had the greatest pf ever and at least one other elite player on every spurs team after his first season.
 
LeBron and 2006 D Wade were attacking the Spurs last night, Pop will need to make some adjustments.

Dude...I said that I'd even have doubts about Phil Jackson after his first few years with the Bulls. Then someone else owned you on what you thought was a clever comeback to slam Popovich. What more than you want? You're a Heat fan and a troll.

Someday Spoelstra may be considered a great coach, it's just not a call that can be made yet. If you're not happy with that, I'll just put you on ignore.

How did he own me? I was well aware that Robinson was out that year, that was my whole point that without talent no coach is going to be able to do anything.

Seriously, this game has Lebron's Revenge written all over it. Don't be surprised if he drops a 35-12-10 type of game. Given the way the Heat turn it on and off and the narrative changes so wildly for him and the Heat from game to game, that scenario makes sense. Or maybe the Spurs' defensive game plan is just that good that they've found a way to neutralize the best player in the NBA (the NBA right now, not all time. Don't want to go down that road). We'll find out tonight.

Lebron's line - 33/11/4 and the Heat dominated with a bounceback game. So not too far off. No squibs, though.

I hate to be the I told you so guy, but I'm so rarely right on my predictions that I have to enjoy it while I can. :smile:

I'll take the Spurs. I'll eat my hat if Dwayne Wade plays remotely close to that level again in game 5, and I'm operating on the assumption that Tony Parker's hammy will be better and not worse. My gut feeling is that this series is going seven games.

Depends on how shot up d wade is. If he is back on the hgh like a friend, they very well could.

Or if he cheap shots some spur player, like he did rondo and Stephenson, roid rage?, they should be ok too

Can you post these before and after pictures of Wade? This is the first I've ever heard about it.
