Miller & Deace are back together

Tell me this: do you REALLY think that 100 stations and satellite have signed up to listen to these two guys talk Big 11 and the hoks? That might play in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, but where else? You you think that Detroit or Chicago sports radio stations are going to give these two guys the time of day? Having your podcast on itunes doesn't mean you're national.

I like listening to Miller and Deace together, but Miller is way too hok-centered to play nationally. His time on the BTN showed that that doesn't even play in other Big 11 territories.

You are aware that Deace is a Michigan guy right?

You are also aware that Chicago, Detroit and pretty much everything in between is a big 10 market right?

So explain to me why they wouldn't want to listen to a show that is centered on the Big 10? Now they might not want to listen to Miller/Deace, but (and I know this might shock you) Big 10 fans like to hear people talk about Big 10 sports.

Maybe this is a stepping stone for those two in terms of slowly gaining a national following, but I highly doubt they expect to become national sports media figures over-night. This venture may be a hobby for all we know.

Together they are far better than anything else in DM. Looking forward to this show.

Except that in Millers case, Big 10 talk will be centered in August and September on how the hawks are the next Big 10 champs and 12-0 to start the season and then October and November running the excuse campaign on what if's and why his presumptions earlier should have been right except for bad circumstances beyond his control that happen to no team other then his hawks. Then after the season is over he will come up with an entire week full of shows going game by game, week by week all excuses to justify why his 12-0 record and National Championship prediction he had preseason turned into anything but.........

Stupid music talk and other junk until August where same crap different year start all over.

Wonder if they'll get a billboard in Sault Ste. Marie? The fisherman of whitefish bay are going to love them...

I can't listen if the show is not completely about gay marriage and abortion.

I have no idea what the show will consist of, but it's going to only be an hour long so I would think a lot of the extra stuff will be cut out of the show.

I'm sure the Hawks and Wolverines will be discussed plenty on the show and both hosts will have a slant there but I think they do a good job of calling eachother out for those slants.

I'm curious how much play ISU will get on their new show. If they really want it to be a big 10/college football show that people all over the Big 10 would want to listen to then I would assume ISU wouldn't get any play at all. As little as people in Michigan care about Iowa, they care about ISU a whole lot less.

Kinda sad to see the venom spewed by some here.

There guys are chasing after something they are obviously passionate about. How many of us talk the talk, but never take any action? Instead, those barking the loudest on the forum are most likely typing comments and shielding their computer screens so their call center manager doesn't see they are typing comments on CF instead of taking the next call in the queue.

Good grief...you don't have to appreciate their past work or agree with their viewpoints, but at least man-up enough to appreciate they are chasing after jobs that align directly with what they are most passionate about and giving it a go.

I would have to agree that these guys have been the best duo on the air in Des Moines. I think Murph and Andy are more entertaining but i know a lot of you don't like them as much because they're not "all sports all the time". I'm happy for both of them and wish them luck...I was really hoping they'd take that time slot from perrault now that he's gone. Oh well.

I say Deace and Miller will talk about ISU .001 percent of the time -- if at all -- considering Miller announced this in a post on HawkeyeNation while not posting anything on CycloneFanatic -- which he is a member of as well and posted on here when he was at KXNO.

I agree with you......slim to none

You don't have to hate the White Star Lines to mention that the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank.

You don't have to hate the 7th Cavalry to mention that General Custer was WAY overconfident in his Indian-fighting abilities.

You aren't a Viking-playahata to note that spending your entire budget on a washed-up QB might not be a good move for the future.

Steve's prior business ventures have left a clear track record of how he treats customers. I hope he & Jon do well in their venture, but I sure as hell don't want to bet a paycheck on their success.

Exactly. BIG difference between Big 11 talk and iowa-centered Big 11 talk. Jon Miller just can't help but to link every possible conversation to KF and the hoks. Now Deace, I think that he could run a national CFB show and syndicate it. If he hooked up with someone like Bama Bob (that Marty has on), it would be an informative show that I could see gaining some steam. But Jon doesn't have a national view. He knows iowa and a little about the Big 11. But discussion of every program always comes back to how iowa compares to them and how they match up with iowa. No one outside of this state wants to hear that.

Deace can pull it off he knows a lot about college FB. Miller only knows Iowa FB and will bore the listeners.
