Where is somewhere in Iowa good for a quick getaway with a 1 year old? Is Honey Creek good? What about the state park by Maqoukata?

Honey Creek is really nice accommodation wise, but if you're looking to be close to the water, none of their cabins are near the lake

It's a one year old. They aren't going to care at all as long as there is a park and/or swing. Go where you and the better half want to go and go to the City park.

i'm curious for us but want to make sure it's not somewhere a 1 year shouldn't go - like hiking. he did just get new shoes but we'll hold off until next season for that.
