I always hold out hope and then I get that email and it reminds me that I'll likely never be able to go.
I still hold out hope every year. I got picked in the Cubs NLCS lottery in 2016 so there's always a chance. One thing that always helps is that we had zero rain outs this year which opens a lot of practice round tickets.
I thought I hit gold a few years back for the Ryder Cup when I got "selected". Within 10 minutes of getting the email, I received texts from like 4 friends and my brother in law telling me they got picked. LOL it was such a sham.
I won the opportunity to purchase 4 tickets to the Monday practice round, unfortunately I won them for the 2020 Masters. There were very limited spectators allowed for that year's tournament in November, and I didn't make that cut. They did, however, allow me to purchase the same tickets for the tournament in 2021. It was an amazing experience!
