If you've seen a Saturn V up "close", you'll realize how mammoth a rocket has to be in order to push something even as small as the Apollo modules to the moon.
My wife and I were at the Cape a couple years ago and witnessed a launch, but also took a tour and stood under a Saturn V that was on it's side in a huge hangar. I had seen pictures before but when you are right next to it you can't believe how big it is.
