Winners and new coaches draw in the best players. Will be interesting to see how this season impacts recruiting classes moving forward. We are only three games in, but a trend has appeared. If this season tanks like last year…we might see recruiting take a nose dive further cementing our nose dive as the KU replacement at the bottom of the Big 16. It’s a slippery slope.

He will have to hit the portal hard, hope kohl stays and is ready next year, have a total change in philosophy, and hope somehow the defense isn't destroyed by NIL

The ISU swim team won't have a more dramatic dive than this program.
Kids with potential will move on while he's still here and I don't blame them cause Matt's not going to be here after 24. Unless we have a miracle hire after Matt, we may not see competitive football until after the 26 season at the earliest.

This may wind up being as bad as the Jim Criner sanctions, which Walden couldn’t overcome. I have no solution to the problem.

We're already not recruiting very well and not bringing in transfers. Biggest risk we run are the good players and coaches on defense saying **** you to our offense and playing somewhere their efforts might actually result in wins

When change finally happens it will be a total tear down and rebuild. Hopefully we aren’t at a critical point with conference realignment at that time.

If we have 3 consecutive seasons where we win 4 or fewer games, how do you let that slide? Fan engagement is already starting to waffle. Imagine what it'll look like next winter.

JP doesnt fire coaches like that. See Mcdermott(he got lucky their), CPR should have been gone 2 years before he was. He also got lucky with Steve, no way anyone can come back without winning a conference game.

We're not recruiting very well THIS year. But the 22 and 23 classes were really good. That is going to be the core of the roster starting next season. Better turn things around though or 25 is going to be bad too.

Well, Matt might just be on the same trajectory as Steve, but for two consecutive seasons. If the program continues to tank, he's going to have to do something. And nothing is more refreshing to a fan base than bringing in a new staff after the last one ate **** on repeat.

The biggest implication might be immediate term, not long term.

Donations are going to dry up fast... and attendance at games is going to take a nosedive.
I Really wonder what happens with NIL donations for football. People donated last year and we responded with 1 WR and a 5th string RB from the portal on offense. If we dont get better on offense it doesnt really matter if we retain players on defense either because the offense will continue to lose games
