Lockett Picks Marquette

ISU did get Scotty from Marquette, don't forget.

Honestly, I never completely understood the Lockett recruitment anyway. It seems to me ISU has plenty of guards for next year.....what is needed more is to add some depth to the bigs. Granted, Lockett was a scorer......but hopefully Babb, Clyburn, Niang, and Melvin can pick up the slack. Honestly, I would like to see ISU pick up 1 or 2 Juco bigs for this next year.
 
You can never have to many guys who can score, but what would we spend time talking about in the summer if CFH filled all the schollies.

Not disappointed....he knew PT wasn't a sure thing here. Don't blame him for going elsewhere. Had a strong feelign that Fred didn't mince words when it came to PT and what he'd have to do to earn it.

I don't see us putting Bubu on scholly...mainly because we don't have to. It'll be a long off season. Long ways from seeing who will suit up on 2012 -13.
 
Call me crazy but it feels like momentum is going the wrong way. I think uthoff is going to Iowa too.

We need a commit soon. Matt Thomas!

2.) Pretty sure the guy, who actually said Hoiberg's momentum is slowing, was being sarcastic.
 
We were too guard top-heavy anyway. Not a big deal not getting Lockett. I do like Uthoff's game. I think he could pay huge dividends as a player and would disagree with anyone if they questioned his skill. Norvel Pelle. Don't think he is what everyone thinks he is. Athletic? Maybe. But even if we have Pelle sign a LOI, he probably won't give us four years. Franklly, I truly believe Pelle is too over-hyped!!
 
Would've been a good get and a guy who I think could have played well in Fred's system, but looking at next years team scoring shouldn't be an issue.
 
I am a little bummed about this one. I thought we were a tourney lock with Lockett but I don't know without him. I love Babb but he absolutely is not a reliable scorer right now and guys were basically leaving him alone last year. Without Royce that is going to be a big deal.
 
I'm not all that excited about Pelle. Sounds like he has a ways to go just to qualify academically, which is always a big risk.

I'd rather get Uthoff, for 3 years of eligibility and he's a great kid too. But that's not looking too good either right now?

I hope Fred has at least one surprise up his sleeve if all these others fall through, or maybe two surprises, but I'm not counting on it.

For us to be as good or better this year than we were last year, Lucious and Clyburn HAVE to be the real deal. Lucious should be an upgrade of the PG position by far, but Clyburn will have to step up and be that guy that can take over the game when needed.. like Royce could do.

What type of system is Wisconsin? Wouldn't that be similar to Creighton's? And isn't the reason he said didn't want to play at UW was because of the system? Pretty sure he's looking for something a little more upbeat.

Also not much to base that on but the assumptions that I've had.

I expect with Lucious, and in the future with the PGs that Fred wants - we will play faster than Creighton. My guess is that last year's pace will end up being an anomaly as we were using SG's and PF's to run the point.
 
I love how one guy doesn't choose us and now all of a sudden we won't get any new recruits, period. That's some great deductive reasoning, folks.
