I’ve wondered what if our 2018-2019 and this year’s rosters could somehow be mix and matched to create 2 quality, separate starting 5s. It seems like what this year’s team may possess (team first, role players) may be aided by what last year’s team strengths were (scoring, some positional flexibility), and vice versa.

Thus, the task of creating the best 2 separate starting 5 groups using players from this year and last year’s teams (anyone is fair game, does not have to be a starter). Below is my best shot, let’s see what you think. Obviously this is all my opinion regarding potential team strengths, etc. and it’s a little clunky w/ guys who overlap both teams but welcome other thoughts. And if there’s a thread for this already, my apologies. Enjoy!

2019-2020 roster:

Starting 1:
Shayok
Tyrese 2018
Prentiss
LW
Solo 2019

Starting 2:
Tyrese 2019
Bolton
NWB
THT
Jacobson 2018

I dont really know what to make of this team right now. I will say this, they are alot more enjoyable to watch now that the prima donna's are gone. I dont think they are near as talented as last years team, but they definitely play alot harder and play together as a team.

If THT or LW would have came back I would like this team potential alot more, but right now it feels like they could be on the bubble cut line.

To answer you original question, this lineup would easily win the Big 12.

Starters

LW
Shayok
THT
Jacobson

Bench

Bolton
Nixon
NWB
Solomon
Lard
Conditt
Jackson

So this is a really complex post just to say that last years starters are more talented than this years? Agreed.

Definitely possible that I’m over-thinking a bit but would still say the mix of what last year’s team had compared to what this year’s team seems to have would compliment each other well (which is the overall gist). Thought it was interesting to think of the possibilities w/ some change in timing of who was on what team

THT and Wiggington would still start.

Shayok was never possible, so I’m not sure how this scenario would matter, but he would also start.

I pointed this out in another thread, but in our 4 games against P6 opponents, we have been out-rebounded in each game. When you're starting 2 bigs, that's not good.

Best lineup IMO is this:
Haliburton
Bolton
Nixon
Jackson
Conditt

Wig really didn’t start after the injury.
