Life Mottos

A few that come to mind:

It'll pass (regarding struggles with loss, etc).

Choose your hard (with anything in life you have a choice of working hard at something or you're choosing to be hard on yourself for not)

Always take the mint (when offered a mint or gum always take it)

I like this quote from The Count of Monte Cristo:

“Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.”

The motto I live by is: **** em

Do your thing and don't worry about what others think. You'll be happier for it.

Second motto: don't be a ****.

Be a good person, and you'll be happier for it.

In the vein of life knocking you down but dusting yourself off and getting right back up on that horse:
"Suck it up, buttercup"
or
"Rub some dirt on it"

Get your CF minds out of the gutter!

And from Cheers (Norm):
"Women ... Can't live with 'em ...

pass the beer nuts."

My own:
Never say anything behind a person's back that you wouldn't say to their face.

My father sent me this just before my finals, first semester, freshman year:
Illegitimi non carborundom ("Latin" for don't let the bastards grind you down)

And my faith mantra:
Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly.
(abbreviated version of Micah 6:8)

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow; but the rainbow won’t wait while you do the work.

Ig you fall in love with the process, if you fall in love with the process, then eventually the process will love you back.
