Let's root for KSU tonight v OU (Out)!

No cake-walks in this conference. Very balanced.

I hope the parity and balance, and fan interest, pays off for us. Media-wise.
I doubt it, sadly.
Media seems to only care about the teams that are in conferences where they completely dominate, with only a small % of other good teams. (ie - Big Ten & SEC)

They won't care about the best Big 12 team if they're 9-3 with a lot of other really good teams close behind them.

I thought they looked alright. They clearly didn't have the speed of OU. They look undersized but play pretty sound.
Nebraska gave up 580yds to OU.
KState gave up 550yds to OU.
Final outcomes of those two games tells us a different story though. Most of us would say Nebraska's D got shredded. OU just looked bad tonight with some penalties at poor times (like us today).

I get the feeling OU is on the downturn. I could see them going through several coaches over the next 25 years. It's hard to imagine them being able to recruit the players they need to go against the SEC. I think they may turn into Arkansas.

Congrats K-State and the purple kittens. Nice win! Way to represent!

The more OU and Texas lose, the better.

I sort of figured Texas was still all hat and no cattle, but KSU really exposed OU tonight I wasn't expecting that. I think we will be ok Campbell teams usually improve through the season.

It'll be interesting for sure. I feel like they got the best coach they could have and they had a ton of defections.
Besides winning Nattys tough to go up from what Riley got them. They were basically the #5ish team in the Country.

I tend to agree. I still think they could make it out okay in the SEC, but I think they are becoming increasingly disconnected from what made them a powerhouse originally in the Big 8.

I don't foresee the fall to Nebraska levels, but I could see them turn into an Arkansas-like program. In the SWC, Arkansas was relevant, but I don't think they've ever won the SEC.

K-State is gonna give up some yardage. Especially to a team like OU. But they are going to make you run a lot of plays and sooner or later you'll make a mistake. They're kind of like our D with Lanning at LB honestly. They know where they're supposed to be and get stops/turnovers when they need them. They're good football players.

Yeah I'm not saying they're bad or that OU's bad, I'm just trying to refute against that poster's mind being made up after one conference game being played. The B12 is gonna beat each other up this year IMO.

One thing I’m confident in is that OU is done winning conference titles. Schools like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and LSU will always have the advantage over OU going forward. Not sure why money is better as a fan than winning conference titles.

I expect their D to be solid, but Martinez played out of his mind. How often are they going to get a game like that out of him? If he keeps carrying the ball 21 times a game he's not going to make it through the conference schedule.
