I don't know which thread to ask this question in so I'll just ask it here...
Has there ever been a year like 2014 where both football and basketball have the potential to have AMAZING recruiting classes in the same year?

I don't think football has ever had a chance to have an amazing class. Even though the 2013 class is good.
He doesn't run track anymore. He was a state champion in the shuttle hurdle relay as a freshman, but hasn't been back out since then.
How big of a talent is Lazard. Is he on the same level that AJ Green was as a senior in high school? In other words, who would you compare him to out of high school?
Will someone please tell me (Im sure this has already been asked and answered but I didnt read through the entire thing) how Rivals has this kid as #1 and then Espn has him as 33rd in his position?!? Has to be some biased against a kid from Iowa there?????
ESPN is a terrible recruiting source. That is that. This is not just because they rated our commit lower than rivals. Rivals is simply better and has been forever.
The most impressive game I have witnessed from him was last year versus Dowling where he drew multiple defensive pass interference calls and still caught the ball in the process. Dowling came out in the 2nd half triple teaming him. CB in his face, nickle back stacked behind him and a safety over the top.

In all seriousness, Alshon Jeffery would be a better comparison than Calvin Johnson. Lazard is elite in every aspect of the position except speed. If he can develop just good speed he will be a force regardless of who is throwing him the ball. If his speed doesn't improve much he is going to be another Keenan Davis: the size and ability is there but can't consistently get separation from defensive backs.

I'm going with a Justin Blackmon or Dez Bryant except taller. I think he's a little more flexible than Jeffrey. I also don't see him topping out with him on his bulk or strength.
Rivals compared him to Dorial Green-Beckham who was the #1 receiver a couple years back
I'm not saying he's not any good, but did he make much of an impact last year? I remember hearing how much of a beast he is at WR during the recruiting process but don't recall hearing his name much during the season.
If you're talking about as a senior in high school it's a lot easier to compare him to a Calvin Johnson (#3 WR, #37 overall) than it is to compare him to Alshon Jeffery (#13 WR, #99 overall) considering Lazard is #1 WR, #25 overall.
If Lazard ends up being as good as Jeffery I'd be ecstatic but as a high school senior he's on a different level recruiting wise than Jeffery was as a senior.
He's talking about skillset. Lazard could be very good but Calvin Johnson is perhaps the most freakish player in the NFL and that's saying something.
