Lawn mower started today with a big puff of white smoke and now will kick out white smoke when it runs. It ran fine the last time I used it. I noticed by the exhaust there is oil now that dripped when I tried using it tonight. It is a briggs and stratton engine. No one put any extra oil into it between mows. Picture below of where I saw the oil. Any tips?

Happens to me sometimes when I tip it over to change the blade and oil gets in the air filter. Sounds to me like either oil there or too much in the carburetor, but I am far from a mechanic. Just my own troubleshooting. I'm sure an actual small engine expert is on here

Does it start and run? Or is it just puffing out white smoke and not starting? If it's the latter, it may just be flooded.

If it's running, and you didn't do anything since you last ran it, it may be a blown head gasket or a bad piston rings, thus the new oil leak and smoke. How old is the engine?
