Larry legend did pretty well with no coaching experience at Indiana. Hoiberg seems to have a similar approach and I predict he should be successful.

The first step is for a coach to get players and the fact that players and future recruits have switched from bolting the program to being excited to get on campus already gives the Mayor a leg up on the successful mid-major coach over in Iowa City.

Coaching in the NBA and coaching in NCAA DI are apples and oranges...two totally different games requiring totally different skill sets from a head coach.

Really? Larry Brown, who has been hugely successful in both, would disagree. He has said that he was the same coach in both college and pro.
He did say that it was demeaning to have to beg 16-17-18 year-old kids to come to his school...
