I don't think they are pricing out their fan base. I'd guess the KU football fanbase is price insensitive - and really small. So they're only going to get 10k fans, regardless of price.
Kansas is not just going to have 10k fans.....they are averaging 43k fans per game at Arrowhead, and the only two opponents they've hosted are TCU and Houston....two fan bases not known for traveling.

I'm not sure where our fans are getting the 10k fans thing from....yeah the KU fans of old for sure, but they'd love to play spoiler and Iowa State is at least a bigger name to Kansas fans than TCU or Houston

Hold up...they SOLD 43k tickets.

Basketball season ticket holders are required to purchase football season tickets so that could easily build in 10,000 tickets without butts in seats. Throw in struggling attendance because of a poorly performing team...

Probably from those who have seen pictures of that attendance, in which there were nowhere near 43k fans there.

I can tell you for certain that even with those seats being sold, there were definitely more than 10k fans in Arrowhead Stadium for both of their games....in fact I'd say about 30-35k for both of them

This is form the TCU game......maybe not 47k as it was listed, but certainly more than 10k....that lower bowl probably seats around 30k if I were a betting man

43k sold, sure. 43k butt's in seats, no way. Plus ISU sold 4 or 5 k thru ISU and then 5-10 k of those 43 k seats were bought by ISU fans. I would guess when it is all over 50k sold, 40k in the house a 50/50 split.

It's also going to be 50° and raining. I don't expect a huge turnout regardless.

NWS says rain will be mainly before noon. Could still be drizzly, but Friday night looks to be the meat of it.

Probably fewer fans making a gameday decision, but people who have been planning for the game won’t be deterred.

I will be posting an option for some of you who are looking for tix at about 2:00PM today:

Section 109 for about $136 all in compared to $210 from Ticketmaster
Section 305 for about $64 all in compared. This is one section closer to midfield than the ISU allotment.

Here is the link if anyone is interested...

I'm not saying only 10k in attendance...I'm saying they sold 43k tickets and I wouldn't be surprised if 10k of the basketball season ticket holders didn't show which would knock in person down to 33k. I would also imagine they have plenty of other season ticket holders not showing up becuase they're terrible this year. Basically 30k is a best case scenario for them before this game.

I’m only holding off on principal at this point because it makes no sense. If you told me before the season we would be 7-1 and these were the prices I would have locked in immediately. I don’t think it’s going to shift but will probably still wait until Thursday.

they sold 43K tickets, there have been far far less people in attendance. That has been obvious in seeing the stands in games.

This is particularly caused by the requirement KU has to buy FB tickets in order to buy BB tickets. All those KU BB fans are required to buy all those FB tickets, and none actually show up to the FB games. Take away 20K BB fans and you get about 25K actual butts in the seats and that is very likely closer to the number.

Keep in mind they sold a lot more tickets before the season because of the hype then after losing several games in a row that hype disappeared, so did the attendance.

Now with all of that I am sure playing ISU will bring more interest than other games so they might have a few more there, but I really doubt they have 40K plus.

From what I’ve seen on stubhub, cheapest tix bottomed out at about $47 last week and they’re now about $57. Dragging my wife and sister in law to this game so I’m debating getting club level seats so they’re not as miserable if it’s raining. Still waiting for a major drop

Looks to me that there is not a ton of resale tickets out there. So prices are steady and holding. Unless KU runs a last minute ticket special the resell market may not drop tons as there just is not a large amount out there being resold.

This looks like the attendance #s at our Vegas game a few years back. If you dropped the upper deck into the middle it looks to be close. But would be curious to see how it looks this weekend given its over a month later and they haven't looked much better.

Still consistently hovering around 2K on most secondary sites with StubHub showing 1000+ new tickets added.

This has proabably been posted along the way, but does the parking lot open 4.5 or 4 hours before the game. I believe I have read both. Just looking for clarification.
