NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

The third place scheduled isn’t that great next year. We still get the entire AFC East including at Buffalo again, and now New England is good. And the entire NFC West and 3 playoff teams. The third place teams are going to be the Bengals, Colts and Falcons. This is another tough schedule also playing LA Chargers and Denver twice

Spirited effort by the Chiefs this first half, but it's time to remind them at half, a win here, does nothing but hurt the team in the upcoming draft. It is nice to see a team with a decent running attack, and backs that can actually avoid a tackle and pick up yards.

I think I am coming around to blowing this all up and tanking next year. Will still have Mahomes for a 5-6 year run after that. Reid should retire. Kelce should retire. Taylor and Bukter should be cut and eat the dead cap hit. Pacecho and Hunt should be let go.

Get a young, innovative staff in here on offense. I guess I am indifferent to Spags staying another year or two, but get Chris Jones off the payroll after next year.

I haven't decided yet. I don't think it's a total rebuild with Mahomes there anyway. Finding a franchise QB is always the hardest part. The players are tired. When you figure in all the postseason game they've played the last several years they have played an extra season.

Looks like we will have the #9 overall pick. A good spot to land some impact players in 1st and 2nd rounds. I don't think this will be a completely blow up the roster and rebuild season coming up. Mahomes wasted little time in getting his surgery so depending on how well his rehab goes he could potentially be ready to go early in the season. I could see them potentially trading some guys to get more picks and clear cap space too. Unless the Hunts don't want Reid back he already said he wants to come back next year. I think Kelce retires, he just looked checked out in these last few games IMO.

Every year we seem to play Buffalo on the road, getting tired of seeing them. Now let's retool, draft Love and get some help on the defensive line.
One of these seasons Buffalo is going to do what we did this year. I think the Bengals are kind of back to being the Bengals. I feel sorry for Burrow(kind of).

For those that say KC does not need a running back, in the Athletic today it stated KC was last in the league in runs over 20 yards, with only three. 2 of which were by Mahomes, so we only had one running back have a run of 20 yards or more the entire year. Time to stop messing around with retreads at the position and either draft Love or sign Hall as a FA.

Sounds like they are trying to bring EB back as OC. Not sure how I feel about this. They certainly need more discipline on offense, but I'd rather see a new voice enter the building than an old one come back.

I'd agree but still would take him over Naggy. Mike McDaniel was my hope

Maybe Kelce is coming back after all? This sounds somewhat encouraging

If his heart is into it, and he comes back at a decent salary, it would be great. KC needs to rewrite the Jones contract and will be cutting Taylor and a few others before long. People are saying the Jets should franchise tag Breece Hall, which would take one of the better options for a RB off the board for FA.

I defended the signing but woof that was a bad one.
It was almost defensible at the time when we thought they were going to move him to LT, but when he stayed at RT, it was harder to get on board. They did get at least one SB win out of his time here, but certainly in the running for Veach's worst move of his time as GM.

I only defended it because I thought Veach deserved our trust with the teams he put together. But that one looked questionable at the time but man it turned out worse than I thought.
