Cy8, I'm curious if you have played or coached against Kale. You seem to be convinced he can't compete at the power conference level when several head coaches disagree with you.
You have stated twice he will turn into another JVB. Why is that such a bad thing? If we actually had a legit low post threat to compliment JVB he would have been a very effective Big XII player. For a guy who played most of the conference season with a bad foot he wasn't to bad anyway.
Every team needs a few role players. Can Kale play a role at this level I have no idea. But I'm not going to say he can't just because he is from Iowa or he doesn't have a bunch of impressive dunks on a highlight video.
Wasn't it this past season that lots of people were complaining that JVB wasn't consistent. I don't want a guy who shoots lights out some games and the rest of the games he shoots terrible throwing up ridiculous 3 point shots and not contributing hardly anything to the team that game. This will be Kale because he has no inside game and he will be able to shoot lights out some games and other games he will be like a ghost contributing nothing to the team. I would rather have a consistent player who brings multiple aspects to the court which makes the team better. Besides Kale does not have the body we need in big 12 play, he is like Eric Mcknight skinny with no muscle.
If Fred wanted him he would have an offer by now. It is obvious that Fred thinks he is not the right man for big 12 ball. Kale is better off in the Missouri Valley, kind of like Doug McDermott, who did not have the big 12 body we need.
