Twitter link to the tailgate tour. I think the tour is in there somewhere.
Thanks. The tour starts at the 1:31:30 mark for those that want to watch it. Football Locker Room looks sick.

You're the camera person? Cool.I've posted this elsewhere but now that the pre-bid meeting has passed and we are a week away from the bid opening, I think it's a good time to share with everyone. I went through the plans for the pedestrian bridge and pulled out some of the interesting parts, this will be our next webcam location so I just want to make sure everyone is prepped for it!
It looks like they will open bids on May 27th, so as long as whoever is low comes in close to the $7,750,000 budget they have listed I assume we could see work starting in June sometime. They have a substantial completion date of August 12, 2022 and a final completion date of October 11, 2022 which should have the bridge open to fans for the first game in 2022 with some finishing touches still going on.
The rendering picture of the bridge over University Ave should be very close to how the bridge looks once it's finished. It's a little different than the original few renderings, but still has the same general design of two stair towers with signs across.
It looks like they will move the gate into the stadium up to the new landing area, I was wondering how they would make that work. The extended plaza is going to add quite a bit more work than what I initially thought, so hopefully they've adjusted for that in their budget.
Beyond all of that, it looks like they lay the phasing out pretty explicitly in the plans and specifications. The contractor can work on everything over University and to the east as soon as the contract is awarded, then everything else to the west of there can be started following the final home game.
After just quickly going through the plans, it feels like it's going to be tough for a contractor to come in under budget but I need to look at it a lot closer to know that for sure. Materials continue to get more expensive, if you can even get anything delivered in a timely manner. I will keep an eye on who ends up being low on this job and hopefully we will get to see some work getting done this summer!

That facility looks incredible on the inside
Totally agree. And if the stadium were actually bowled in, then the view would be of concrete and I-beams.That view out of the southeast corner of the building looking into JTS is absolutely ridiculous.

Definitely. I was kind of hoping that they'd be a little further along for the OV weekends given the building was enclosed back in November, but I guess with all the different subcontractors, things take more time. That locker room is ridiculous...especially the middle area. Playing Madden or the new NCAA FB game on those screens would be crazy.
Just skimming through the video, I think it'll come together inside fast than you think. I'm still amazed at how fast project sites I've been on can go from looking like total disasters to being in remarkably good shape.
Using the dining area for instance, you aren't putting in glass sneeze guards and breakable / damageable finishes unless you are getting pretty close to wrapping stuff up.
Oh, and can we please get JP a pair of safety glasses? It's still a construction site...
Not in the budget . . . . every penny goes to keeping CMC and assistants.Oh, and can we please get JP a pair of safety glasses? It's still a construction site...

Damn I wonder if we are losing our great "tradition" of students running up the stairs lol![]()
They should move the student entrance to the NE corner. With the new wall blocking off the hillsides they won't be able to sprint across the grass and hop the wall anymore. Plus that avoids any extra congestion at the end of the shiny new bridge.Actually yea. They're moving the security gates up to the top so I think students are gonna just be standing on the stairs now.
