Hello CF, I did some research today to compare Joshua to some of his contemporaries. I am curious what you guys think about about this and how you would rank these players. The big thing that stood out to me was the assist to turnover ratio. Obviously it’s difficult to compare players like Jefferson and Fizer due to the difference of their era’s.

Joshua Jefferson 2025-26 16 games-17.7 PPG-7.8 RBG-5.2APG-1.6 SPG- 0.9 BPG- 2.5 TPG

Georges Niang- 34 Games- 20.5 PPG- 6.2 RBG- 3.3 APG- 0.9 SPG- 0.6 BPG- 2.6 TPG- AA 2nd.

Melvin Ejim- 34 Games, 17.8 PPG, 8.4 RBG, 1.8 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.7 BPG, 2.3 TPG, AA 2nd, B12 MVP

Marcus Fizer- 37 Games, 22.8 PPG, 7.7 RBG, 1.1 APG, 0.8 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 2.1 TPG, AA 1st, B12 MVP

Craig Brackins- 32 Games, 20.2 PPG, 9.5 RBG, 1.3 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.9 BPG, 2.3 TPG, B12 1st

Royce White- 34 games, 13.4 PPG, 9.3 RBG, 5.0 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.9 BPG, 3.8 TPG, B12 1st

Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting.

He's like some hybrid of Rocye and Niang, in my opinion. Maybe does not shoot quite as well from deep as Niang, but definitely better than White. Handles the ball and is more "point forward' like White. Better defender and rebounder than Niang.

Great company though regardless!

I really admire Jefferson's attitude/mental toughness during games, rarely too high or low. The few times I've seen him frustrated it was due to a TO from his passes.
He does turn the ball over bad passes and trying to do things he can’t

Love Jefferson but I’m not sure I would take him over anyone on that list
I don't disagree. I'm also not sure which ones I would for sure take over him either.

They all have different strengths and weaknesses, in my opinion.

I see more comparison with Diante Garrett and Andrew Skoglund. He’s only a few inches shorter than Skogs, and only a few inches taller than Diante. And sometimes he puts the ball in the basket and plays basketball. And they played basketball too

Man I think he's a way better college player than Draymond

I think this is fair. They all have different skill sets, and the expectations for a 4 even 10 years ago are way different than now.

As of now JJ would be a 1st team consensus AA. We need to see it play out, but he’s on track to best all of those guys except maybe Fizer.

Fun fact about Perry Ellis, believe it or not he actually only played four seasons of ball.
I've seen Kansas fans online compare Niang to Ellis in the sense of opposing fans feeling like he was there forever. Those 2 also played the same 4 seasons. Ellis just had the unfortunate baldness adding to the joke.

Offense wise JJeff is definitely a Niang/Royce mix. Defensively I don't see a great comparison

The Niang comparison is OK to a point but definitely not exact.

As Milan said if they don’t run a second guy at JJ he will eat you up

I think they're similar height, neither really fast twitch athletes (alhtough JJ stronger and faster and higher leaper), great basketball IQ, good 3 point shooting (Niang probably better), good passers for a non-guard, good footwork, sneaky around the basket (not traditional "post up" kind of moves), etc.
