Two things...he's got some experience, he's got some size. We could use a little of both next season.

Someone posted today that the extra scholarship could come from Bubu giving his up and going back to walk-on status. Anyone have any knowledge about this and if it's even possible? I think Louisville had a kid do this about 2 years ago so I assume there's a way.
I get invested in these guys and I hope they all stay and have nice careers. If it would be possible for Davis to come and play next year, that would be frosting on the cake.

I think that is where he ends up, although I really would like to see what he would od under Fred. The thought or rumor that he would return to NC St has been out there since for awhile, as in the middle of the season.

adding davis would mean less rebounds for ejim, but would also mean less fouls for ejim and niang. i think this would be a great situation considering our lack of experience at the guard spots.
Scholarships are renewable year to year. He wouldn't have to give it up, it could be pulled from him too.

i definately agree with you, but look at it this way. our guards are very young and have NO experience (besides bubu) and we need a big guy so that niang and ejim get less fouls. bring in davis since we wont have a big guy anyways, start him for the one year while the guards use this year to gain some experience. then the following year if we cant get a new big man, at least the guards have experience now and we can go back to the high scoring 3 guard lineup that we now all love

At a minimum, an athletic scholarship must be a one academic year agreement. In Division I, institutions are permitted to offer multiyear scholarships. Athletic scholarships may be renewed and the school must notify the student-athlete in writing by July 1 whether the athletic scholarship will be renewed for the next academic year. Individual schools have appeal policies for scholarships that are reduced or not renewed. In most cases, the coach decides who gets a scholarship, what it covers and whether it will be renewed.
It's most definitely possible but I'm quite certain that nobody on this board knows how it will shake out.

Look at how many scholarship players you have and how many minutes you have to go around...just because a true freshman doesn't get minutes doesn't mean he is going to transfer. For all we know Okoro could be one of our better players in the future who knows.
