Ah, the late 70s early 80s... Imagine how many targeting calls those guys would get. Pass interference was essentially legal back then. It was the receiver's job to actually get "open."

What Happened to John Matuszak

Iowa Central is where he went to Juco. The story goes he got kicked out of the dorms for throwing a soda machine off the 5th floor of the old tower dorms at Iowa Central to get the change in the machine. Could be true and could be urban legend.

I’m a huge Raider fan and I met big John at a bar in Waikiki. He was on the dance floor and his shoulders were taller than everyone else’s heads. His hands engulfed mine and this was at a time when I was 6 foot and 240. I never felt so little. He was very nice to everyone he met and accommodating.
