John Candy "I Like Me"

I can't wait to see this. John Candy is an absolute favorite, and it's heartbreaking to think of how much we missed out on due to his early passing.

Even at the age of 43, he had an incredible list of credits... I can only imagine what classics he would have given us in the following thirty years had he lived.

Saw something where Hanks' son, who did this, had a hard time finding any 'dirt' on him since so many people had so many good things to say about him.

Even in his terrible movies I'll watch because he could still make it interesting.

He's one of those comedic actors who would've seamlessly been able to turn in an award worthy dramatic role eventually.

Wife and I were trying to pick our favorite John Candy movie, but then we separated it and each picked our favorite John Candy movie, and our favorite John Candy role/character.

Her favorite movie was The Great Outdoors, her favorite character was Buck Russell from Uncle Buck. My favorite movie was Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and my favorite character was also Buck Russell.

Uncle Buck is pretty clunky and actually kind of dark but it's also a god damn John Candy highlight reel.

I think I post this about every holiday season but this may be my favorite scene of his. Iirc he got paid pretty little for being in it and had the condition that he could improvise.

And Catherine O'hara deserved an award for keeping a straight face.
