Jefferson NOT gone.

Buying tickets gives you access to a live event. It's entertainment to some.

I agree, I don't understand why someone would donate to an athletic dept
People donate money to charities they care about as it can improve life for others.

Donating to nil you say has an impact. I disagree.

Why is it selfish to save you money to help you, your family or others in need. I completely don't understand why we would want to support this system of nil. I would rather the system fall apart then spend money making it worse.
Wow. I thought the posts of people writing posts why they won't give to an NIL were over. I was wrong.

For those of you that want to lecture why u don't to WeWill please start a thread on this topic. Nobody cares about why u don't give.

Just to clarify I never bought my son an expensive bat at that age but I did at 12. But my premise still stands that I would still spend my money on my kid before someone else’s kid.
And my point remains that if the Cyclones are important to you and your kids (because I’m guessing they go to games with you as well) then their is likely a way to finesse both to some degree. For me it isn’t the the $500 bat but rather the multiple pairs of track cleats.

Agree

It's sad because I got excited about ISU sports again because pro sports have gotten out of hand. Now with nil it could or is driving up $s in college.
Could have said this 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 5 years ago or now.

I am just seeing this thread for the first time this evening. I read the first few posts from yesterday. It sounded like Jefferson was possibly leaving for more NIL money at another program. I jumped to most current posts and the situation still seems unresolved, but it kind of sort of sounds like he may be staying at ISU after all (?). But, I also feel like a lot of other discussions occurred between page 1 of the posts to page 33. I am not sure I want to dive into all of those discussions.
Don't waste your time.

People are falling on sworos on why they won't give. Good for them. Who cares that they don't want to give. Either give or don't give. It's that simple.

My son played D1 baseball three years ago. With the new NIL rules at the time he was able to get $200 of free pizza for advertising their place on his Instagram. It sounds like he picked the wrong sport and was a couple years too early.
Did he get to do a ad for Farbo(?) Pizza like the Hawkeye BB player? ;)

I'll tell you how it went.
1. Someone heard Jefferson might be leaving for several million annually.
2. The lunatics showed up and called him disloyal if he does.
3. The sane people showed up and told them how the real world works.
4. Then the lunatics came and told all of us that if we don't spend every dollar we make on ISU'd NIL fund we somehow are less of fans and need to get our priorities straight.
5. Sane people responded that our bills and family come first and even if we did have the money we'd probably spend it on matters that actually have an impact on society
6. Here we are.
Yes, and the so-called same people according to this poster, had to lecture everybody on why they won't give. Nobody cares why they won't give, but they feel obligated to tell everybody why they won't give. Some real deep thinking going on. It's all nuts, but people discussing why they don't give to a charity might be the biggest waste of time ever.

The main lesson I'm taking away from this thread is battle lines are being drawn, much more so than even 3 years ago.

This is a good development, the more people start paying attention to what is actually going on here the better odds of things changing back for the good of the game and society in general.

Or ISU football games will have even more annoying time out 'entertainment' to kill any excitement haha.

Basketball always will have sustainability because of smaller roster size. Plenty of really good D1 players. There will definitely be a handful of good teams/conferences outside of just the SEC/ BIG10 if that is the fear. Football on the other hand will have more problems

That’s what I love about basketball. The way a player can train and at a very fast rate make themselves better is very cool.

And then the fluffer showed up. Just responding honestly to comments directed at me. You want to see a waste of time? Look at anyone responding to your brainless arguments in the cave!

Also any burner that was going after Jefferson or mom can kindly go **** themself
Just to be clear, you mean about the transfer rumors, right?

I mean, you aren’t saying people shouldn’t be sliding into her DMs or anything like that?

Impressive. You really are staying on topic. Climb back up on your podium and tell everybody why you won't give. We are all waiting with bated breath. Lol.

Read what I said maybe. I've responded to everyone. "We all" as you're standing there alone. It's makes me feel 100% better that Mr. G Slot buys players though.

Don’t :)

I stand by my donations to the Foundation, to WeWill, to the Athletic Department, Gridiron Club, ans other related special interest groups associated with Iowa State.

I stand with the thousands of people that give.

Way to miss the ******* point. I'm glad you donate and do what you want to with your money. The point for most of us is we dont have that kind of money at our disposal. A guy they would rather buy his son a hat for little League instead of giving to ISUs NIL fund isn't any less of a fan though. I'm not sure what you are even getting at. I'm sorry most of us are peasants. My guess is nobody that donates is taking anything away from their family. You aren't this dense. I disagree with you about a lot but I don't think you're stupid.(Usually anyway)

Well hopefully he didn't have to do a commercial
here like Patrick in one of the earliest NIL gigs

There have not been clear lines between those you refer to as the "sane" and the "lunatics." Most who've posted on this thread have been reasonable, even if they disagreed with you.
