Sure... but did you read my post?

I'm watching the Final Four right now... and I watched the title game in college football this year too... but do you think I'll watch if ISU basically no longer exists for the most part.... nope. If it's just the rich schools that exist at some point... will the rest of the country care?? We shall see?

This does suck, but we are also insanely lucky we have TJ. He is so good at navigating the portal and finding guys that fit and produce. Rob jones played in 2 sweet 16s. Tyrese Hunter was a much larger loss at the time than Jefferson would be. Is a bummer, because I think Jefferson would’ve gotten better. But there are 1000 kids in the portal. TJ will find the right pieces to keep us competitive. Hilton is still elite, and we have better fans than most.
If you think TJ is going to just sit back and play this game every year I've got some news for you. These are the types of things that cause coaches to do things you would have never thought possible.

I'm going to disagree with the this is less of a big deal than Hunter just because someone was waiting in the wings for Hunter's departure. This roster has some MASSIVE holes even with Jefferson in it. Jefferson is a huge, huge loss.

I've just been becoming number and number to college athletics ever since NIL. Caring less and less every month that goes by.... and it's been great!

If they want to destroy college sports... they are succeeding!! Good riddance! Let it all crumble. Do the Alabama's and Ohio State's of the world think anyone will care to watch them if their favorite teams are no longer around at all?? Let's find out. FAFO! They will all lose in the end... it would be glorious!
It's just not worth worrying about.

I am an Iowa State fan first and foremost. I love going to games @ Hilton and @ Jack Trice Stadium and nothing is going to change that.

I've sat through AWFUL football and Basketball seasons, but I still enjoyed going to the games.

In the mean-time, I am glad that we have MC and TJ to steer the football and basketball ships during this turbulent time - which will eventually pass (one way or the other).

Let's Go State!

At what point does TJ decide to go to another program where money is no object?
Hopefully salary caps are there after this year. He has also been successful each year; and has found more talent each year. We aren’t a mid major and will always have to find diamonds in the rough like Curtis jones, but TJ has shown he can do this consistently. TJ also loves ISU, which not ever P4 coach has that kind of love for their current job.

This.

This is all going extremely well for the programs that can afford to play at this level. There is no slowing down this train. Sobering day.

And no, nothing is changing or getting fixed Monday.

NCAA tournament used to be my favorite sporting event. It’s really hard to care. As a kid Christmas Eve was my favorite night of the year. The first Friday of the tourney was a close second.

A bunch of one year unrestricted free agents with no cap, it’s just really hard to give a ****. I’ll still probably watch ISU and be a fan, but I just don’t have much emotional investment anymore.

This. I think us older folks have to understand that we aren’t the target demographic anymore I guess. It’s a new world and it will be the only world these younger folks know and ratings haven’t suffered. So, I guess from thst perspective, it’s all still good.

They still will unfortunately. It’s how sports work.

Tampering. It’s still illegal to contact a kid at a school
L.O.L.

Don’t tell the NCAA we were linked to the Virginia guard way before the season ended and we “somehow” had a meeting set up the day after the portal opened with Cluff.

If true it sucks, but it's the way it is now. Mitchell and Pleta will have opportunities to show what they can do. At the time we thought the loss of Hunter would be devastating. We have the exact staff we need to maximize what we can achieve in the current state of the game.

Trust me.... I'm "worrying" less and less every year... and it's been wonderful! College sports could end tomorrow... and my life would likely only improve.

Can see your point, but we did not know Tamin was this good at that time I guess was my point.

We do have holes yes, but there are a still people entering the portal. There will be options, not saying upgrades, but I do think TJ will find guys that fit

For now. I am totally convinced fans will start to care less and less with a new roster of players each year. And look at the product in basketball, it will get worse and worse with the rosters of just all new guys every year (as guys haven’t played together). In football : ISUs retention rate has been outstanding, and it’s really helped us so far

It's not illegal for the kid's agent to test the market as far as I know.
This is what’s happening. Agents beating the bushes for best deal. It’s what they are hired for I guess. Not the most upstanding bunch but they have a purpose for their clients.
