Agreed. What TOTALLY sucks is that it's us, the average fan who takes it in the arse because not only do we lose players we like and have a less competitive team, but we also get blamed for not supporting the NIL fund enough.
Yeah, you nailed it. That's what I don't like now is this weird pressure that if we lose a kid it's because dimmer didn't do more

What sucks is I’m sure freed up money could’ve gone to cluff. The timing is atrocious. Poaching is the worst part of NIL and won’t stop until the ncaa puts serious infractions for teams caught doing so.

We were told that money wasn't an issue with Cluff. Purdue makes a ton of sense for a big man.

lol - I mean would you stay if you knew Dishon Jackson was getting 1.7M? When you know how much better you are.

I’m a die hard but if someone offered me 3 million I would leave and be comfy for life. That’s once in a lifetime money for someone who may not be an NBA player. Selfishly hope that doesn’t happen but I understand reality.

I don't know what I would do in that position. I don't. It depends on what you believe in, your virtues - whatever you believe them to be. What is important to you while you live only for a moment on a 4-1/2 billion year old planet.

Really, this proves I don't know myself well enough. If I probe deep, I don't think I'd like what I unearthed.

I hate reading stuff like this. Where there is smoke there is fire. I just don’t like it when you can’t see the smoke nor the fire, you can only smell it

If this is true and he leaves, so be it. He’s doing what he feels is in his best interest. I’ll still support the players who suit up for the cardinal and gold

Notice OP throws out a grenade and hasn't given any further info. It's easy, if you've seen something link it.
Nothing to link, I heard it from a person close to the program. As I said, I hope it’s wrong but where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And yes, he did say he was 100% coming back to ISU after our loss, but money can change that in a big hurry!!

Cluff got 2.3mil. We weren’t paying that amount.

Well then they've been lying on the podcasts. The vibes we've been getting is that 1) it was super impressive to keep the main four (and it was until today) 2) money wasn't the reason we lost out on Cluff and Rhode, even though they had bigger offers

Ok but 3mil.is insane especially for a player that isn't a top 10 transfer let alone #1. It would be record braking by a lot

Young man has busted his ass while injured…it’s called loyalty…something that’s hard to find in our wonderful society today.

And other schools may not want to spend money for someone who gets injured easily.

Hope it's wrong but if it's true then what's the point in being a fan? No other sport on the planet operates this way. Just make them employees already and get them on contract. Why don't we want them to be employees exactly? Everything's already fckd up beyond recognition might as well go all the way.
