It could be worse...

We as a fan base need to settle down. Matt Campbell and staff have brought ISU football to relevancy. We have a Fiesta Bowl trophy in the case, irregardless of some of your opinions about it. We played who was on our schedule. We played in a conference title game as well. We have played top tier programs in bowl games.

We have top tier facilities with the Cytown upgrade gonna happen. All of these really nice things are the result of what Matt Campbell has brought as well as the vision of our athletic director and department.

I can’t believe some of you people and how pathetic you guys are, thankfully you are the minority.

Am I frustrated with the season, absolutely but to turn our back on the best thing that has happened to us and piss and moan over every little thing irritates the hell out of me. In fact the vast majority has no clue how to call an offensive scheme or coach in game. I remember on the call in show every week years ago that multiple callers would call in and suggest to throw it to Blythe every single time. That is how dumb some of you are.

At least we don't have a 70 year-old coach who refuses to retire and publicly states he thinks offense is overrated on a Big 10 commercial. Amazing recruiting pitch!

KF thinks offense is overrated..... and CMC doesn't concern himself with winning. Not very good traits to have for either guy.

I somewhat understand what CMC is saying.... but he has said that he doesn't really concern himself with winning.

Just be the best version of yourself out there.... and the wins will happen is basically his philosophy.

I think we need an ISR offense safe space/group therapy thread. Someone must hate our entire state to give us two offenses like these.

I had the ISU game on the big screen last night, and the Iowa game on my laptop.... and you talk about two of the worst and most boring games you could possibly watch..... ouch. It was painful. 4 teams not trying to win a game.... just not lose it. But that seems to be the trend these days.

Do not do anything at all that could possibly be a turnover.... so in other words.... don't do anything all game and just try to win it at the end somehow.... or hope the other team makes a mistake.

He 1000% concerns himself with winning he’s just wired differently. What we may see as not caring about winning is why he has gotten so many good players to come play for him and why he’s had teams buy in to his philosophy. Also why he was able to turn one of the worst programs around.

He cares. We’re just frustrated. He’s far more frustrated though and he knows what him and Manning are doing isn’t working.

People expected a quasi-rebuild, because we lost three excellent players to the NFL: Chase Allen, Breece Hall (who could be rookie of the year on O), and Kolar.

But - we seem intent on running a Wisconsin style spread - run offense, and we do not have the horses to do that. I don't get it and fans should be pissed we keep trying the same thing and it is not working. Tom Manning and Joel Gordon deserve all the heat they have coming at them.

Looks like their game with Illinois was similar to ours vs iowa. Won turnover battle but still lost. Basically their margin against average to sort of bad teams like ISU and Illinois is one or two of those three turnovers they caused has to go for 6 or they can’t win.

Week off then Ohio St who looks very legit and not just a media creation like some years.

Don't forget Illinois lost their starting QB in the 1st qtr too.

I only analyzed box score so didn’t see that. Another thing is it looked like Illinois could run the ball for good average and given backup qb that’s likely with Iowa knowing they are going to run ball.

Speaking of injuries OK St had a ton of injuries to starters in first half that game before I switched over to ISU , was more impressive than result may have indicated. No clue if they are out beyond just that game.

I think you said it best, we currently don’t have the horses. We can’t run the football and despite any new offensive gimmicks, if you can’t do that then winning is gonna be tough.

Also we miss Brock Purdys short to mid range accuracy. Dekkers has a cannon but no touch, I was worried about this at the beginning of the year. A couple of accurately thrown balls on the last drive and X has us knocking on the door. Even the drop on 4th wasn’t a good ball but it should and needed to be caught.

Hey look at this dumpster fire over here… see our dumpster is not so bad….

Love Campbell and want hums as our coach for years to come, but we are having some serious issues.

Look at last year great players and the team under performed big time. whose fault is that?

Okie State has some good depth. Announcers were talking about how the play/rotate X amount of D lineman and it blows the doors off what ISU can do.

Their D is still leaky but at least they can keep things fresh.

I have heard a couple of those guys were more concerned about their future rather than their present

That wouldn't surprise me with how the team never quite looked like they gelled considering how much it looked like the 'play for one another' piece was strong in 2020.
