***ISU WNBA Thread***

Bridget was my youngest granddaughters (who is now a sophomore at ISU) when she was playing. She had a Canadian flag she would bring to the games and even got Bridget to sign it. A couple years ago when the links had drive to support a charity I purchased a signed pair of red Nike basketball shoes which I display in my office and will be going to my granddaughter some day. I met her at a function when she was a senior and had a short conversation and she was as been noted a very genuine down to earth person who did not act like a diva,

Bridget had 12 points o 4 of 8 shooting for the Linx 102-95 victory over Phoenix. This included another 3 pointer at the end of the shot clock to increase the Linx lead from 3 to 6 near the end of the game! Clutch!
I'm surprised this wasn't big news here and all over. Bridge plays like this in this balanced attack by the Lynx and she can be awarded some nice post-season recognition.

But all of the surrounding pieces have perfectly snapped into the puzzle, from the shooting of Kayla McBride and Bridget Carleton to the playmaking of Courtney Williams and the toughness of Alanna Smith. Everyone on the roster defends at a high level, and everything else seems to fall into place.

MSN quote above is in the article below and other insights:

I didn't realize first round is best of three but first two game are at home for the higher seed.

In a way it makes sense and I can get used to it, just so different than NBA have it be 2-1 instead of 1-1-1.

Two hours till gametime and ESPN is already in full Taurasi worship mode. Hope the the Lynx win by a 100 and Diana scores 2 points.

Yeah, not a fan of hers.
Late game, not a fan, originally they had this listed as a 6:00 PM start which didn't make sense either.

Watching early game. If she who shall not be named learned to work refs like 15 year vet Bonner instead of yelling at them, it might swing the game 5-10 points. My first wnba playoffs but I’ve watched 35 years in a row of NBA playoffs and Bonner clearly that player I know who works the refs without yelling at them.

WNBA refs are not all that great. Sort of dreading the 2nd game with the refs giving Taurasi the veteran's preference over the Lynx.

What a real star does, at least in the nba, is like “I’m a massive superstar and I’m gonna talk to my good friend and make you feel important”. It takes some a year or two to figure it out, a few never do, but most do.

If the team I’m cheering against is yelling at refs I smile because we’re good. If a superstar opponent is hanging with them like best friends, we’re screwed.

I think I’d like college mbb and wbb to try six fouls for 40 minute game like wnba. every key player fouls 2-4 times a game at least and you’re one or two bad calls from being taken out of the game.
