Think I am going now. A buddy that previously thought he could not make it work can go now and after the game last night it made it even more obvious to us that we need to make this bucket list trip this year.

Some questions for those who have gone to games at KU:
1. Give us some pointers about where to park and how early to arrive
2. Hotel recommendations - are there any decent places nearby within walking distance by chance? It's not a must but it doesn't look promising when I Google options, the closest is a Quality Inn about 1.5 miles away and reviews aren't the best. I'll gladly pay to stay in a place that is not run down or dirty. Prices aren't bad at all within Lawrence that night and KC area the same.
3. Places nearby to eat before the game. It's an 8pm tip and we will likely shoot to arrive mid afternoon so we can check-in to a hotel, scope out the parking situation, and get something to eat beforehand and hopefully some places open late enough afterwards too.

Any other tips I didn't think of share here. Thanks

For food: The Burger Stand is great! There's also Merchant's on the same corner, a restaurant/pub in an old bank. Lawrence Beer Co is a bit further and has great food + beer.


This is making me want to grab tickets and make the drive from KC..

We need to start a roll call thread sometime next week. Would be great if we can find a place before the game for Cyclone fans to take over. Purchased tickets this week to go with 3 others. Section 3 so not the greatest but better than directly behind the basket in the nosebleeds and probably pretty comparable view to the corner balcony season tickets we have at Hilton. This has been a bucket list road trip for me even if I am only 45 and will have more opportunities, but decided this is as good of a year as ever to check this off the list as this is the best team we have had since the 2 teams we just celebrated the 25 year anniversary so let's do it.
