ISU Bowl Projection

Reading between the lines I think we're going to Arizona no matter what
I don't think there is a chance we go to Memphis. Curious what happens if BYU beats Tech and two Big 12 teams make the playoffs...do we accept a Texas Bowl invite over the Rate?

Not a point about you personally but more about the overall state of college athletics where fans think about bowl payouts more than the destination or experience.

There is no universe where Memphis is more fun than Vegas lol.
When is the vote for us fans to decide what bowls we go to? The ADs decide and they care about payouts. If you think that doesn’t matter to then JP must not be worried about the NIL stuff happening.

I mean it really is not a choice. Texas picks before Rate, we take what we get invited to.

Yes there is some politicking to a point before the pick, but when it comes down to it, you take the top bowl, which is the bowl that chooses first, when the invite is offered.

If it's the Rate Bowl I don't see a way Nebraska falls that far in the B1G selection order. Might get Penn St. though thanks to the B1G rule that you can't jump a team two games ahead in conference record. Probably need PSU over Rutgers, Minny over Wiscy, and Michigan to miss the playoffs.

Not me I dont want a chance to loose to them ever again. I would be the most nervous about that game than any game in years.

If we lost to this ****** Nebraska team we should just shut down the football program forever.

Why is Memphis always in the Liberty Bowl? I wouldn’t mind going there, but I don’t want to keep playing an away game in that bowl.

Because the SEC always "just happens" to not have enough eligible teams, even though they somehow have teams available to play in bowls farther down the food chain.

I believe there have been 5 occasions where ISU should have played an SEC school in a bowl game, but *whoopsie, not enough SEC teams!* -- the second trip to Shreveport ('04), Houston ('05), and the three trips to Memphis.

So @Messi posts about his top 5 favorite bowl destinations in a magical hypothetical.

And you respond with "so you don't care about payouts".

And my point was it's disappointing that the current state of college athletics has led some fans care more about bowl payouts than the actual destination.

And then you entirely missed the point by posting about what ADs and Pollard want.

P.S. the bowl payouts go the conference, are combined and then shared equally.

lol, yeah I know, that was my point. The ADs decide and they care about how much money they will get.
