ISU apparel

I agree. There is some really good stuff out there, you just have to look. Sad that in-state retail isn't stocking as much ISU gear as we'd like, but that doesn't mean you can't buy it. IMO the main problem is that the two biggest sellers of ISU gear (UBS and T-Galaxy) have terrible/nonexistant websites. Here are some decent links:

T Galaxy seems like it has a good website, but it's not working currently.

How do they know ISU fans won't buy the new Nike stuff if they don't stock it? I went to 6 different stores trying to find ONE decent polo shirt and came up with nothing. Had I found anything decent, didn't even have to be Nike, I would have bought it, maybe even a couple shirts.

Scheels had a small selection of ISU gear, but it was all worthless. Had any of it been decent, I would have bought something. Again, that's not ISU's fault, but fans can't buy what stores don't carry.
Than that goes on the purchasing dept at that Scheels. I know Scheel's in Sioux City carries a small selection but what they have is pretty good. The Nike Polo, Under Armour Jacket/shetshirt, Mike jacket. Hat selection was decent. One problem is vendors won't stock new stuff until the get rid of the old because they don't want to give up the floor space. They can't get rid of the old because everyone wants the new.

I understand your chicken and egg argument though. I don't even think anbout buying at Scheels in Sioux City. I just order online or buy when I get to Ames or Des Moines. Problem is there aren't enough "Tavern Cyclones" that buy ISU gear to justify using the floor space.

Ask yourself one question...Does the floor space used to sell ISU/iowa/neb gear equal the % of fanbase for each team?

IMO- The apparel right now is the best it has ever been. Just went to T Galaxy and the Univ bookstore last weekend and spent too much money. Selection is much better there and at Scheels than online but if you look you can find just about anything

I have to agree. When we make it back to Ames, we shop at the University Book Store, Campus Book Store, T Galaxy, Dogtown, etc. At the Mall, Penney's, Strawberry Patch and the sporting goods store all have good selections.

Otherwise I buy online and some of the stores listed above have websites. Ebay is a good source too. Hell, I've found ISU gear on Target's website.

T*Galaxy - Iowa State Tshirts, Iowa State Sweatshirts, Iowa State Apparel and more!

These are just the obvious options. Good luck!

About your last question, it's hard to say. Obviously I expect to see large amounts of Husker gear in Omaha stores, even the obscene amount that stores like Scheels carry. The Husker fan base is not normal though. How many fan bases travel with 20,000+ fans to EVERY away game? They are fanatical about any and all things Husker, including clothing.

That being said, I find it very hard to believe that there are 3x as many Longhorn fans/alums in the Omaha metro as ISU fans/alums. Obviously there are going to be bandwagon fans buying UT stuff just because they're really good most of the time (and it ticks off Husker fans).

And the selection of Iowa apparel is probably 6 or 7 times as large as ISUs. Again, I doubt that their fans/alums outnumber ISU by that much.

FWIW- The Hispanic population is a demographic that are large purchasers of Texas gear as well as UT being popular among the kids. My son is an ISU fan first and a Texas fan second. h has more than one buddy that owns Texas gear.
