Is the Freshman OU QB THAT good?

The fans at Dirt Burglars are high on him but they are high on every player at OU ever. I reckon he'll be good but hopefully can make some freshman mistakes when he plays us, I hope he plays like the KC Chiefs version of Pat Mahomes when they play the Whorn$.

The fact that Oklahoma didn't go after that Houston QB that transferred makes me think they feel pretty good about Rattler.

Rattler was the best QB by far in his draft class if I remember correctly.

I think he's going to be pretty special.... especially in Riley's system at OU.

He was featured on a season of that Netflix QB show, the name is escaping me. Seemed pretty athletic but he only played a few games because he got into some trouble at school and got suspended for the season.

Even if he’s mediocre he’ll put up a ton of stats in that offense.

Last Chance U?

Qb1.

if you start at OU as a quarterback, you are good. Can’t remember the last OU quarterback that sucked

Since Stoops got there, they've had SEVEN quarterback Heisman trophy finalists and FOUR winners. In just 20 years. That's amazing. J Hurts, K Murray, B Mayfield, L Jones, S Bradford, J White, J Huepel. That doesn't even count Adrian Peterson who was a finalist

They also had a kid transfer to West Virginia and he was their starting quarterback and one transfer to Texas A and M to be their starting quarterback.

From all the videos I've seen of him plus that QB1 show, he really makes it look easy.
At this point he is the most talented QB that Riley has worked with. Every one of the last three QBs at OU have been highly successful under Riley. I dont think there is any reason to believe that Rattler wont be as good as Purdy and Ehlinger unfortunately.

I can't imagine the limited practice time this summer won't make the start of this season at least a little harder for the young kid. Could see him getting a bit Rattlered out there.

I think Rattler will be good but this is the first QB Riley will be asked to develop. He's had 2 5th year QB's and a 4th year JR to work with so far at OU, he had a hand in those guys but they basically all showed up at OU with good experience under really good coaches and were ready to play right out of the box. It'll be interesting to see how he does with this kid.
