Alright, so I have the capability to produce a heat map (the below is just Breece Hall's carries, but doesn't show the width of field on his runs). All I need now is a (hopefully free) data set that has X and Y passing target coordinates.Thanks, really enjoyed reading.
If you could show zone charts of percentage tendencies (offensive and defensive) as to where they like to go when they run on first down or where they tend to throw to on third down, etc. I think that would be really interesting to digest. Kind of like a shot chart in basketball.
Doesn't need to have near as many zones as this, but something to separate flats, mid-range, and deep balls across left, middle, and right and temperate colors to show their percentage of successful passes in that particular zone, etc.
This is seriously amazing stuff. If there's a way to eventually get the horizontal spread too, it would just be icing on the cake at this point.
Tried looking around but the first few sets I looked at don't indicate where incomplete passes were thrown or towards which receiver so that might be tough to find too.
Yeah the one I'm using shows the targeted receivers on incompletions. I'd even take a "pass deep right" kind of thing.
