Iowa State Schedules Purdue for MBB

Creighton Creighton Creighton!!!

A home/home or home/neutral/away (neutral being... Des Moines? Sioux Falls?) would print money for both sides and be a big TV draw on an otherwise slow night early in the season.

The master versus the student narrative is always a good one to build up hype.
I don't think Greg will ever step foot in a populated Hilton as a Coach again

in the modern era, we have mostly struggled agaisnt the better Big 10 teams. I remember losing to Ohio State 4 times(twice in the tournment), Purdue in the tournament, Illiniois in the tournament. I remember spliting with Michigan and of course beating Wiscosnin in the tournament.

If the Big 12 is really planning to negotiate it's basketball TV rights separate from football to maximize revenue, cutting conference games to 18 wouldn't make much sense.

They didn't get paid to do it this time. They can negotiate going up to 20 when the time comes

As others observed, this likely is the swap for Big12/BigEast dissolution. But I'd embrace an additional home/home or neutral vs. significant competition. Maybe it won't happen for 2025-26, but perhaps an overlap with Purdue in Ames the following season and start another home-and-home or one-off neutral. That could depend on what MTE we have, certainly.

Does the Purdue game simply replace the Big 12 / Big East Challenge? I could see another Power 5 addition to the schedule since the conference slate is moving back to 18 games next season.
