Iowa Offers Gibbs.

UNI better enjoy being in the same conversation as Wisconsin, Iowa, and ISU for recruits while it lasts. I expect their program to go under like the Titanic did. Too bad Gmac wont be there to hold Jacobson's hand and say "I'll never let go."

And you base this off of Jacobson's first year as a head coach and a team that lost 3 starters from a team that barely made the tournament the year before. Gmac's last year at UNI they were ranked in the top 25 for one week and then went on a slide and barely made the NCAA's. I love Mac but it's far to early to call him a Great coach and it's far to early to make any assumptions about Jacobson or the other 2 Iowa D1 coaches for that matter

Well, the other 2 coaches have a proven track record. Jacobson has no track record. The only thing he has to show (IMO) is a great start and a terrible fade down the stretch where they received no post season invite last season. UNI is not an easy program to win at and what GMac did there still surprises me. I thought I'd never see the day UNI made 3 NCAA appearances in a row.

So yes, I believe UNI better enjoy the days when they can recruit the same kids Wisconsin does.

I really like Gibbs' game. He's a helluva player and I personally would HATE to see the squawks get him.

My message to Gibbs: Big things are on the horizon for ISU basketball. Come be a part of it!

Tom Kakert of HawkeyeReport said this today:

Kakert basically had Emanual Negadu going to Iowa. Also Chris Williams spoke directly to him and he said ISU is in the lead. I trust in chris.

I thought that when Chris interviewed him it was prior to him getting scholarship offers from Wisky and UI. That can change things a little bit.

It might have been. He also might be more interested in Iowa and Wisky. My point is Kakert really has about as much of a clue on this stuff as the next guy. I would trust John Miller over Kakert. Also I am pretty sure Gibbs knew that when he was ranked 97th in the country that Iowa, Wisky, Minnisota, and the rest of the big boys would come calling.

Agree totally..... The morning that Clayton Vette came over to visit and eventually get offered from McDermott, I heard an interview with Kakert and fellow koolaid drinkers Dolphin and Podalak who had Vette locked into going to their program as well. The interview was on WHO radio the morning he signed with "The University of Iowa" ISU

He has the opportunity to play 30 minutes from home, so his folks could easily see all of his home games. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in black and gold.

I would not be suprised, but I bet his mom who loves the Clones would. Anyway he is not make or break anyway. I would like to get him. However if you see who we are recruiting he is one of the lower rated ones.

Gibbs is a 4 star, Rivals top 100 player and would be ISU's highest reated signee thus far for 08. While i agree he is not make or break, it would be a great recruit to have on the team. I really hope he comes to ISU, we need to keep all the good Iowans here in state.
