Yeah, I don't get why they don't get a school like Grandview or Wartburg for that at least. Schools that could give them a few decent matches rather than just running a train on kids who probably didn't even place at State in high school.
I will be blown away if this happens. Clark beat the national champ last year. And I don't think Hall will surprise him, given they have wrestled before in freestyle--with Clark winning. But hey, anything can happen.
There's a lot of truth here but we haven't exactly wrestled a tough schedule, either.
Do you see Goettl picking it up later in the season? Everything I've seen of him so far looks like he has let the preseason pressure kind of get the best of him which is stopping him from opening up and just wrestling.. I'm hoping TNT can shake his head and get it back to where he needs to be because at this point I feel it can only go one of two ways Turning It Up or tucking the tail.
There's a whole bunch of Iowa fans posting on various wrestling message boards how mad they are that this dual isn't going to be on IPTV or the Big Ten Network. And ******** about having to maybe sign up for a month of Cyclones.TV to watch it. Most of them don't even seem to realize that it'll be on TV if you have mediacom.

Luckily I'll be right there at the dual so I dont have to worry about it! I don't even want to know their excuses for not coming to Ames, wait let me guess probably something like "Why Go to LAMES when we will just beat the livin snot out of those CLOWNS." Making sure that they include the combination of Lame into Ames and for some reason still not knowing how to spell CLONES properly. The thing I've always found funny about being called clowns is you walk into the hospital in IC and there is Herky painted up looking like an actual clown... But i'm giving them a break because it is close to the children's hospital but I'm terrified of that thing.
Eff them. They also complain about not being able to sit in the front row(s) at Hilton. Iowa State is under zero obligation to cater to Iowa fans (or fans of any other school).

I have two predictions:
1. The dual score is going to look ugly for ISU
2. Many non-wrestling watchers will end up calling for KJ's head even if every match we lose is by 1 point (that won't happen, especially at our giveaway bonus point HWT slot)

In addition to the above, if I see constant movement from our guys and constantly trying to work for points, I'll be feeling good about where they are. In a way, I kind of hate having a team score for duals because of how even with everything being close, many scores look way more lopsided than the tourneys.

My prediction is that we'll win one or two - Moreno and/or Gadsen. My hope is that we'll exceed expectations. Since I've been following Cyclone wrestling more closely, the past six or seven years, we've only either met or fallen below expectations when wrestling Iowa. There are probably more times, but the one match I remember in the meet being a pleasant surprise was Nate Carr Jr a few years ago.

When I read the OP I thought the same thing. I could see 84 being closer than people think. Lofthouses have a tendency to disappoint.
And this Iowa fan is thrilled he lives in central Iowa and gets CycloneTV.
