Actually, only twice the size. Actual solid seating, excluding the hillsides, is only 45,000. We only get to 55,000+ if all four hillsides are packed.

Well I was being a bit generous. There's a high school stadium in San Antonio that holds 23k, so that makes JTS - at least in terms of actual seats - only about twice the size of the biggest HS stadiums.

It's the fans that make the stadium, though, IMO. 100k sitting on their hands is way less intimidating than 50k passing out from cheering....

Not to get too far off subject, but does anyone know what time this game is going to start? It is TBA on all the schedules posted. Is it safe to assume that since it is homecoming, it will be a day game? Kind of annoying when you are trying to make travel plans.

It all depends on tv. Personally, I doubt this will get picked up and I predict a 1 pm kickoff.

I think they are still waiting for TV selection information before they schedule a start time.

You should just plan to be there at 5 AM and stay until midnight. That's the safest bet, and the most fun

Glorified has a vastly different definition than what I'm used to if people are saying Jack Trice is a glorified version of that San Antonio HS stadium. While it is a very nice HS stadium, that isn't close to Jack Trice.

Using that definition, the San Antonio stadium is only a glorified version of Council Bluff's HS stadium.

I don't think JTS is an overly impressive stadium. It's pretty blah.

It's special to me, though.
