Huskers in NIT

1-9 vs quad one for UNC...ugh

What's the rational to turn down a chance to improve?

They feel like they're starting over so why bother?

It would annoy me if I were a fan, there's not some guarantee that North Carolina has to be great forever.

The way Nebraska was playing its best late...really dumb to not invite them, I get the NCAA not taking "hot" team into account but the NIT definitely should if a major conference team is over .500 and improving.
Maybe the UNC player's million dollar NIL deal's didn't include playing in NIT games!;)

"Tim Miles has turned around San Jose State. Can Spartans keep him?"

Some schools like NIU football for a while seem to create "coaching success" just because of what they are.

Others like Nebraska basketball seem to be legit coaching graveyards. It's literally exactly the worst major conference football or basketball program...unless there is some team out there that has never won a bowl game. They're the only one that hasn't won an NCAA game.

I'm sure ISU football was thought of as such for a long time until Chiz somehow got hired despite not really winning and then Campbell actually won.

I don't know if I would describe 5 of 7 losing seasons in conference as a fine job or not.

Considering what they've been the last 3 years, it's pretty good. He actually made the NCAA.

A lot of coaches are doing a fine job if we're comparing them to Nebraska the last three years. @quasistellar original point of it being a tough job is accurate.

I don't hate Fred, but his failure at every place but ISU does make me happy. ISU is a place you can win at basektball, Fred's failure at Neb is added evidence that ISU is a very good basketball job.
Fred hasn't exactly done himself any favors with his job choices post-ISU. The Bulls were almost comically inept, and 100% of the problems started in the front office. After higher Hoiberg, they went out and acquired players that didn't even come close to fitting Hoiball. It almost seemed purposeful.

As for Nebraska, it's hard to say if they've been so consistently bad for so consistently long due to indifference, ineptitude or they're somehow cursed.

To me Fred showed he wasn't very smart or only interested in $$$ having anything to do with the Bulls. He played there for Floyd. He obviously only learned that $$ trump's all.
