Someone needs to resurrect the thread that tracked how many weeks each MBB team has been ranked cumulatively. I liked watching how ISU could move up the ranks.

Yep. Fixin to catch Vandy, if things go according to plan. Vandy is receiving votes, but should catch them in the next poll.

Was Iowa a juggernaut in the 1950s or something? Very surprised they are that high.

They were pretty strong on the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s under Lute Olsen, George Raveling, and Tom Davis.
They had a run in the early 50s, too. Made it to the NCAA championship game in 1956, losing to Bill Russell and the San Francisco Dons. They won 17 games in 1953-54, 19 games in 1954-55, and 20 games in the year they reached the championship.

Fell off the cliff the next year and went 8-14, though.

If ISU can get into the top 15, they should have a chance to jump LSU at #48

This is a cool ranking but also a little depressing haha
It would take 10+ years being consistently ranked around 15 to make any sort of progress moving up

Consistent ranking of 15 = 200 points per year.

If Otz can keep us at #15 (or better) for 3 years, we could leap 2 teams this year, 2 next year, and 2 the year after (depending on how Baylor and Auburn perform over the next few years).

That's what I'm saying. It would take 10 years to get into the top 30, and that's ignoring other teams that are also continuing to accrue points, so likely longer than 10 years

Like I said, it's a cool ranking, and will be fun to hopefully watch us jump a few teams this year.
And the way TJ has it rolling, maybe we jump into the top 5 and start racking up 400+ points per year

Crazy ridiculous the points the top 5 have. Even a storied program like UCLA is nowhere close.

With this weeks appearance at #5 in the AP Poll, Iowa State moves ahead of LSU to 48th in the All-Time cumulative poll.

Stanford is next at 47th, and ISU could surpass them in the All-Time poll after Selection Sunday if they can average a #6 ranking for the next 5 weeks.

Geaux Clones

As long as they average 16 points (#10 or better) over the next 6 polls they should jump Stanford with the last "after the tournament" poll.
